Harvest began in 2006 inside a small web design studio in New York, as time tracking and invoicing that its own founders wanted to use. It grew into a platform serving small businesses across the world, profitable and independent, with no outside capital behind it.

A profitable, founder-owned company hires on a different axis than a sponsor-backed one.
There is no board timetable, no capital to deploy on a deadline, and no obligation to grow at a rate someone else set. What there is instead is a culture built over fifteen years and a founder who will live with the decision. Executives who have only operated against a sponsor's clock often read that as slow, and misread the bar.
We screen for people who can work without the forcing function of outside capital, because at a company like this the urgency has to come from the person rather than the cap table.
