Decrypt covers the industry for readers who need to understand it rather than be sold on it. In December 2023 it merged with Rug Radio to form Dastan, putting the two largest media properties in crypto under one roof.

33eleven Partners was brought in by Consensys weeks after the merger. Two audiences had come together and the combined sales team had no leader, no structure, and no reliable way to close.

A merger does not create a sales organisation. It creates two of them.
Decrypt and Rug Radio each arrived with their own advertisers, rates, and relationships. The revenue leader's first job was not selling, it was deciding what the combined business was selling and to whom, before anyone could be held to a number.
We looked for someone who had built a commercial motion rather than inherited one, because there was nothing here to inherit.
