The order was deliberate. A company whose value sits in its people rather than its software has to fix the platform before it can have a serious conversation about the roadmap. Hiring a product leader into a system that cannot ship sets them up to fail.
We look for leaders who can read where a business actually is, not where the org chart says it should be. The right hire in year one is often not the most senior role on the list.
