Advisors do not leave a CRM because it is bad. They leave because it was built for someone else.
Wealthbox is the CRM designed for financial advisors rather than adapted for them, built around the way RIAs actually run client relationships. Founded in 2012 in Providence, Rhode Island, and now backed by a $200M investment from Sixth Street and Frontier Growth.
the engagement
Level Equity introduced 33eleven Partners to founder John Rourke in 2025. Wealthbox had grown substantially without a formal sales organisation, and had just taken significant growth capital.
PLACEMENTS
-
Wealthbox grew on product quality and word of mouth in a tight-knit advisor community. That is a foundation worth protecting, and the mandate was to build a sales function on top of it without changing the way customers experience the company.
PARTNERSHIP INSIGHTS
The hardest sales hire is the one at a company that never needed sales.
Wealthbox and Holistiplan both grew into the advisor market on product and reputation rather than outbound. Both then took growth capital, and both faced the same question: how do you install a revenue function without turning into the kind of vendor your customers chose you to avoid?
The wrong answer is a leader whose entire track record is aggressive quota-carrying at companies that always had a sales motion. The right one has usually built a first team inside a product-led business and understands that in a community this small, one bad quarter of pressure selling costs more than it earns.
