Field Service Executive Search

OPERIX

INVESTORS | M33 Growth

A contractor's worst day is the one where nobody knows where the crew is.

Operix builds field service and operations software for the construction and specialty contracting trades, connecting scheduling, dispatch, job costing, and back office in one system. Formerly IFS Core, the company also supplies its platform to other software providers as an OEM.

the engagement

M33 Growth introduced 33eleven Partners to Operix in 2022, through Andy Timko. We have run three searches since: engineering, marketing, and product.

PLACEMENTS

We have used 33eleven multiple times, and from the very beginning, they were dialed into our needs, efficiently managing the process, clearly communicating, and reducing the impact on our team. Their delivery of high-quality candidates, with the right mix of experience and culture to support our company’s goals, has led to some extraordinary hires for our leadership team.

PARTNERSHIP INSIGHTS

Three searches, three years apart in mandate, one continuous relationship.

Operix came to M33 Growth as a company that knew the trades better than almost anyone and had never been run as a growth-stage software business. The three searches map to three different stages of becoming one.

Engineering came first, in 2022, because nothing else could move until the product could ship on a predictable cadence. Marketing followed in 2023, alongside the rebrand from IFS Core, when the company had something worth telling the market about. Product came last, in 2025, once there were direct customers and OEM partners pulling the roadmap in different directions and someone had to arbitrate at the executive table.

None of those three roles could have been hired in a different order and worked. And by the third one we were not learning the company. We were three years into knowing it.

A contractor-software business is not a generic SaaS business, and the executives who succeed in one often stall in the other. All three searches screened for people who could hold both: software discipline and genuine respect for an industry where trust is earned slowly and travels through relationships rather than campaigns.
